Fox Soul TV’s ‘Screening Room’ Is Celebrating, Uplifting, And Gifting Black Filmmakers

HBCU Students Enter Pitch Contest to Win $5k by May 1st

HBCUs have always had the entertainment industry on lock. When it comes to acting and directing, we have icons like director Spike Lee of Morehouse College and actress Taraji P. Henson of Howard University, There are also multi-faceted alumni like host/actress/entrepreneur Oprah Winfrey of Tennessee State University and host/actor/entrepreneur Terrence J, of North Carolina A&T University. To keep the legacy ongoing, a new pitch contest is looking to support the next generation of HBCU filmmakers.

We are encouraging students to apply to Fox Soul’s Screening Room HBCU Pitch Contest for the chance to win $5,000. Although our HBCUs are full of the best and the brightest talent, there can only be one winner. For the chance to win the coveted cash prize, take the plunge and submit a powerful idea for a short film. This opportunity could take your filmmaking degree to the next level. Fox Soul’s Screening Room is a show starring host Vivica A. Fox, highlighting the next generation of Black filmmakers, so this opportunity could elevate your college filmmaking experience to the next level.
